In line with the Nationwide Tree Planting program of the LTFRB, in consonance with the objective of the Department of Transportation (DoTr) to support R.A. No. 8749 otherwise known as the “Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999”, the LTFRB Regional Office No. XI (Davao Region), in collaboration with various transport groups and operators, started the conduct of tree planting activities within the region.
Last August 28, 2017 and September 21, 2017, the LTFRB R-XI, spearheaded by Regional Director Atty. Teresita P. Yñiguez, together with various transport operators, planted six hundred seedlings consisting of assorted Mahogany, Gemelina, Falcata trees and mangroves at Catalunan Grande and Matina Aplaya, Davao City.
This tree-growing program, in coordination with the DENR, is a collaborative effort to address climate change and environmental degradation in the country.
THE LTFRB R-XI also supports massive educational campaign for environmental care and encourages operators not just to plant, but also to nurture these trees because these will really make a big impact, specially for future generations.
